I do like how these courses are structured and that it’s at your own pace. Being a mom of five, I love having that flexibility with my busy schedule. However, I don’t feel like my review matters until I have completed all of my courses. So until then, I have to give a three star rating.

I was sold when I heard about the conference being advertised on the radio. I am a stay at home mom looking for a career and that sounded perfect. I had never been so excited about anything in my life.
You have to go out and seek employment and use your resources. At-Home Professions has a Graduate Referral Department that can assist with these types of issues. They will not find a job for you, but they will give you the resources to do so yourself.

The courses are laid out well and I have a goal to be done in December. I feel like the site is easy to navigate and helpful. I'm very disappointed that upon receiving all the flashcards I paid for, I had to rewrite them to adequately utilize them. The perforated lines to separate the cards were printed incorrectly, thus cutting the terms in half. This leaving no value/learning experience for me as the student/consumer.
I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that it was too good to be true but didn't want to think that way. I really thought I had found a way to make good money and make a better life for my children. I mailed the course materials back in exactly the same condition I received them. I was told by the sales rep for At Home Professions that I was eligible to take the course for free. I didn't feel like I was under a deadline to return materials that I orignally perceived I would put to use.

Graduates of our Healthcare Documentation program are eligible to take the Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A) certification exam through the American Academy of Professional Coders . Graduates are not required to take a certification exam, but taking this additional step may help graduates market themselves to potential employers and validate their Medical Coding knowledge. Just started the program and so far it is working just as was explained in the seminar I attended.

So it's really unfair for me to review as of yet and why I chose only 3 stars. However, I've been in the medical field over 20 years and this is definitely a refresher course much needed as I realized how much I have forgot that I have not been using in my current job. For the most part, I am sincerely enjoying myself.
I also learned that next time I would like to purchase the book because I need to see a hard copy. I started reading it on the computer and quickly realized I need a hard copy then I had to struggle to print everything next time I want to buy the book and quizs already printed out. I also took the medical transcription course so I could work at home.
If someone attends a 4-year college and cannot find work after graduating, is the college to blame? The responsibility lies within the student or graduate. There are a lot of jobs out there to be had, but they aren't going to just fall into your lap.
I do wish we heard more reviews with people who have completed all of their courses instead of people that are just beginning. I’ve read a number of reviews off of BBB which didn’t speak highly. The lessons are exactly as promised, and I feel like I am learning valuable skills to build a future career! I am so pleased with the payment plans and affordability of this education program. People who write reviews have ownership to edit or delete them at any time, and they’ll be displayed as long as an account is active. It is completely at your leisure so sometimes it’s hard to get motivated, that’s why it is so important to stick to a schedule.
It's just like going to college and after finishing the 4 years we go out and look for a job in what we majored in. I have now been working successfully at home for over 6 years. I am able to work my own schedule, as much or little as I am able, and I make more money than after 27 years in retaiul pharmacy. We are a family of 4 living off one income and with the economy going in the direction that it is times are tough. I am so upset and sick to my stomach over this whole thing. I hope that these people are stopped so that they can't give any body else false hope and take anyone else's money.
It is very challanging and takes hard study. I can't say I'm doing too good at it right now, but I'm trying. Circumstances have slowed me down considerably but I plan on finishing, God willing. The bottom line is, At-Home provides an education that can lead to many wonderful opportunities. What you choose to do wth that education is up to you.
